The Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the greatest religious festivals of the Muslims, is celebrated with religious fervour and zeal as it marks the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

Every year, Bangladesh Jamat celebrates Eid together over lunch where the members greet each other and spend hours together enjoining delicious lunch, cultural music and the company of each other.

This year, Eid ul Fitr was not celebrated in a usual manner. Though in trying times, Jamat celebrated the festival with family members at home. Jamat exchanged virtual greetings and children not only wore new clothes but also received gifts from the elders of their families, relatives and well-wishers.

To make this year’s Eid ul-Fitr memorable and keep Eid traditions alive, Communications and Publications Committee under The Aga Khan National Council, organised a video program for the Bangladesh and Global Jamat which was aired in the evening of May 27th at the the.ismaili/Bangladesh/live.

The celebration started with the Eid Greetings and prayers from the senior members of the Jamat followed by Eid Message from the President of the Aga Khan National Council for Bangladesh.

Furthermore, the Jamat enjoyed children’s video - ‘Ya Allah - You are the One’ and photos of Ramadan and Eid celebrations that the Bangladesh Jamat took part in virtually on this very unusual Eid. An exciting musical performance by the Bangladesh band Ye was also presented to the worldwide Jamat.

To conclude, the Jamat were taken back to Lisbon, Portugal to reminisce the Diamond Jubilee visit of Mawlana Hazir Imam.

On behalf of the Bangladeshi Jamat, we wish everyone

Eid Mubarak!
