The Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB) is a volunteer organisation under the Ismaili Council for the United Kingdom (UK). It was established to provide educational initiatives which inspire and prepare the Jamat to overcome today’s challenges and lead to an improvement in Quality of Life
Today, the UN celebrates International Day of Education. The theme this year is “to invest in people, prioritise education.” Investing in teachers is an intended product of the Professional Teachers Collaboration, an initiative whose primary focus is the international exchange of best practices in teaching.

This year’s results days will take place on Thursday 13 August (A level) and Thursday 20 August (GCSE). Results days will feel unusual as students did not sit their exams and instead will receive a Centre Assessed Grade (CAG), which schools and colleges submitted to the exam boards to help determine the final calculated grade.

Students in year 13 are advised that the UCAS deadline for confirming their firm and insurance university choices is Tuesday 19 May. UCAS have hosted an informative webinar which is available here to support students with advice and guidance at this time.

On 18 March the government announced that schools will be closed to the vast majority of students in England, Scotland and Wales from Friday 20 March and Northern Ireland from Monday 23 March.
In our rapidly changing world, the use of technology is not only on the rise, but is essential to participation in the knowledge society. On 20 October 2019, over 150 members of the Jamat attended the Ismaili Centre, London, for the inaugural Science Fair – part of the Aga Khan Education Board (AKEB)’s effort in the UK to promote interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
