Dhaka, Bangladesh, 16 September 2013 – Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Dhaka this morning for a two-day official visit to Bangladesh at the invitation of the government. During the visit, Hazar Imam is expected to meet with government leaders, sign a protocol agreement between the AKDN and the Government of Bangladesh and meet with the Jamat at the new Ismaili Jamatkhana and Centre.

 

Dhaka, Bangladesh, 16 September 2013 – Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Dhaka this morning for a two-day official visit to Bangladesh at the invitation of the government. Upon his arrival he was received by the Honourable Foreign Minister, Dr Dipu Moni, the Ambassador at Large from the Prime Minister's Office, Mohammad Ziauddin and other government officials. Ismaili Council President Rai Sulaiman Ajanee and other Jamati leaders were also present to welcome Hazar Imam on behalf of the Jamat of Bangladesh.

During the visit, Mawlana Hazar Imam will hold talks with the Honourable President of Bangladesh, Abdul Hamid, the Honourable Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, and other senior government officials. He is also expected to sign a Protocol of Cooperation between the Aga Khan Development Network and the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

Mawlana Hazar Imam will also meet with the Jamat at the recently opened Ismaili Jamatkhana and Centre, for which he laid the Foundation during his Golden Jubilee visit to Bangladesh.
