20 November 2014 — The Ambassador of Canada, Mr Shawn Steil, and the Ambassador of Australia, Mr Paul Andrew Myler, accredited to Tajikistan, visited the Ismaili Centre, Dushanbe and met with the AKDN Resident Representative, Mr Akbar Pesnani, and the Vice-President of the Ismaili Council for Tajikistan, Mr Muzaffar Djorubov. During their visit the ambassadors received a tour of the Ismaili Centre and learnt about its architecture and activities as well as the work of the Aga Khan Development Network.
London, 18 November 2014 — The Right Honourable Iain Duncan Smith, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, and Mark Harper MP, Minister of State for Disabled People, attended the fifth annual Disability Colloquium at the Ismaili Centre. The forum provided some twenty-eight charities with the opportunity to dialogue on raising disability awareness and fostering ways that can help to create a more inclusive society. Organisations in attendance included SCOPE, MENCAP and Leonard Cheshire Disability.
7 November 2014 — Her Excellency, Najla Mohamed Al Qassimi, the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Portugal visited the Ismaili Centre, Lisbon and met with the President of the Ismaili Council, Aitmadi Amirali Bhanji, and the AKDN Resident Representative, Vazir Nazim Ahmad. During her visit the ambassador received a tour of the Ismaili Centre and learnt about the work of the Aga Khan Development Network.
18 March 2014 — An outreach event titled A Preview of the Aga Khan Museum was held at the Ismaili Centre, Dubai. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al-Nahayan, was the guest of honour and keynote speaker at the event, which was attended by more than 300 people. Also present were a number of distinguished guests, including Sheikh Juma bin Maktoum Al Maktoum from the Royal family, Khaled Al Kamda, Director General of the Community Development Authority, government officials, diplomats from several countries, professionals and entrepreneurs.
21 February 2014 — Thirty-seven students from Senator Reid Elementary School in Surrey, British Columbia attended an Aga Khan Museum Enlightened Encounters workshop held at the Ismaili Centre, Burnaby. Facilitated by Museum staff, the session featured an exhibit of reproductions from an illustrated manuscript of Nasir’s Ethics. Following the workshop, the students received a tour of the Ismaili Centre.
20 February 2014 — Ten Alberta and British Columbia teachers in the Secondary Teachers Education Programme (STEP) took part in an interactive session with staff from the Aga Khan Museum, including Museum Director Henry Kim, Patricia Bentley, Amirali Alibhai, and Sarah Beem-Borg.
15 February 2014 — The role of leadership in implementing ethical business models that benefit all stakeholders was the focus of a knowledge form held at the Ismaili Centre, Dubai. Panelists and keynote speakers representing a cross-section of industry leaders engaged with the audience on the importance sustainable growth and business development. The forum looked at managing financial, social and environmental risks, obligations and opportunities both from an idealistic and practical standpoint.
21 September 2013 — More than 200 graduates of the University of Central Asia were awarded their certificates at a ceremony held at the Ismaili Centre, Dushanbe today.
