Prince Amyn was in Vancouver on 11 and 12 May to participate in the opening of a new exhibition at the University of British Columbia’s Museum of Anthropology. Speaking to a crowd of approximately 1,800 guests at Thursday’s public exhibition kick off, Prince Amyn talked about the importance of the relationships that the Aga Khan Museum has with other museums, including the Louvre in France and the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, Russia.

Details of an Islamic garden gifted by Mawlana Hazar Imam to the University of Alberta were revealed today at a special ceremony. The event also included the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the University of Alberta and the Aga Khan University.
Mawlana Hazar Imam’s 80th birthday was celebrated by the Jamat and members of Hazar Imam’s family with love, music and felicity. Representing the entire Ismaili community in all of its diversity, Jamati and institutional leaders visited the Imam at his home on this milestone occasion to offer congratulations, express shukrana, and to reaffirm the Jamat’s bayyah to the Imam of the Time.
