Designation -Program Head

Location - Mumbai

Qualification - Master's degree with specialization in disaster management or social science

Experience - Minimum 10  years experience in disaster risk management programming.

Job Responsibilities -

  1. Programme Head (IS & DRR) is responsible to support Head of Emergency Management in ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of IS and DRR portfolios of Emergency Management Department at national level.
  2. Leading the team of development professionals i.e. Sr. Manager (IS & DRR) and Regional Programme Managers (DRR) to ensure the timely and quality programme deliverables.
  3. Regularly reviewing and monitoring the disaster risks and disaster preparedness in AKAH
  4. India’s priority states and ensuring that the state teams and volunteers are prepared to respond to these risks.
  5. Ensure that project documents are complete and maintained appropriately.
  6. In collaboration with the Monitoring & Evaluation Team and Communication Officer, identify lessons learned” and “best practices” as well as develop project success stories for wider dissemination. Contribute to Knowledge management initiatives of organisation.
  7.  Produce relevant presentations and documentation to key group and relevant stakeholders.

Skills Required - Interpersonal; Oral Communication; Public Speaking; Counselling; Coaching / Mentoring; Teaching 

Training; Leadership; Negotiating; Problem Solving; Planning and Coordination and Language Skills
(proficient in English and Hindi. Knowledge of other regional languages will be value additions
