1. Explore 160 works of art created by Ismaili artists from over 48 countries around the world.
Art can help us to better understand societies and cultures of the past and present. The Portugal Pavillion will be home to the International Art Gallery (IAG) and will showcase 160 works of art from all over the world. In addition to the exhibited art, the gallery will also host workshops and other learning experiences in a variety of formats.
2. Get up close and personal with a celebrated film industry expert.
Attend the International Film Festival keynote presentation with a world-renowned industry expert, who will inspire the audience with stories and lessons from a specific vantage point of filmmaking. Ask questions and hear about their personal experiences of the film industry at the NOS Theatre.
3. Learn four styles of dance, inspired by different cultures around the world.
Each day, the International Talent Showcase will host a World of Dance workshop at the Festival Stage. Participants of all ages can learn unique forms of dance and their respective histories.
4. Children can create their own short film.
The International Film Festival will host a workshop for children aged 6-12, where they will spend time learning how to create stories, characters and settings. In the second half, they will have the chance to create a short stop-motion animation film.
5. Take part in an interactive chalk art installation with Ismailis from around the world.
Be part of a community mosaic that expresses your talents alongside others on the Chalk Walk, located in the interactive spaces on the IAF grounds. Draw your piece and add to the mural to show how the whole can be greater than the sum of its parts!
These are just a few of the unique experiences planned for the 2018 Jubilee Arts International Arts Festival. Be sure to view the full programme and create your own plan for the week.
