Singapore, 2 April 2012 – Mawlana Hazar Imam's visit to the Far East drew to a close this morning as he departed Singapore. During his visit, Hazar Imam met with the Far East Jamat over a two-day period. Members of the Jamat had come from 13 countries across the region.

 

While in Singapore, Mawlana Hazar Imam also held discussions with the country's Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, Yaacob Ibrahim, as well as senior representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Economic Development Board, the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore and the Asian Civilisations Museum.

Yesterday evening, Mawlana Hazar Imam attended a Jamati institutional dinner. During the dinner, youth from the Jamat staged a performance highlighting some of the cultures of the Far East. Encompassing a traditional Indian dance, Malay Joget and Chinese dance, the performance showcased the unity, diversity and adaptability of the Far East Jamat.
