The Green Joarshahara Project, an inspiring initiative by Ismaili CIVIC Bangladesh, officially launched on 17/11/24 on the rooftops of buildings 1, 2, 4, and 5 of the Joarshahara Housing Society. This community-driven project aims to promote sustainable urban agriculture and green living by utilizing unused rooftop spaces for cultivation.

Society members enthusiastically participated, planting a variety of fruit trees and winter vegetables, including Chiku (Sapodilla), Thai Guava, Lemon, Tomato, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Brinjal, and many others. The initiative not only fosters community engagement but also addresses environmental and food security challenges in urban settings.

The project highlights the potential of urban agriculture to transform city landscapes while contributing to healthier living. By growing fresh, organic produce locally, residents can reduce reliance on market-bought vegetables, minimize their carbon footprint, and enhance the greenery of their surroundings.

This effort by Ismaili CIVIC Bangladesh reflects their commitment to community service, sustainability, and the betterment of urban lifestyles, serving as an exemplary model for other housing societies to follow.
