Aga Khan Garden: A place of joy, delight and wonder

The Aga Khan Garden, Alberta, was inaugurated on Tuesday 16 October 2018 in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam. The Garden joins a network of parks and gardens that have been established around the world through the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC).

Shining like a beacon above Pune’s Nagar Road, the brightly lit Palace represents a fitting metaphor for Gandhi’s role as a guiding light in India’s campaign for independence.

He will also be awarded honorary degrees by three Canadian Universities for his achievements, and contributions to humanity.

On the occasion of the centenary of the end of the First World War, the Ismaili Council for France represented the France jurisdiction Jamat at a ceremony to mark the memory of soldiers of South Asian origin, who lost their lives a century ago. Guests at the event came together to focus on unity and cohesion between all peoples.
