The eyes are among the most sensitive organs of the body and are considered to be one of the most important senses. Despite this, taking good care of our eyes is often ignored, resulting in many people losing their sight and needing glasses.

To take good care of your eyes the Health Committee had organized 2 days long eye check for the members of the Jamat from 7th October to 9th October. This checkup was consultant by Mr. Saleh Ahmed. Doctor of the Bashundhara Eye Hospital located in Bashundhara Residential Area. Around 38 members of the Jamat grabbed the opportunity to examine their eyes thoroughly for any relatable diseases or issues that had occurred or may befall in the future.

The examination included a full eye examination and a visual acuity test. Visual acuity tests assess the ability of the eyes to read from a given distance. The patient is instructed to read out fonts of various size while covering one eye at a time and keeping both eyes open. The optometrist changes the lens combinations based on how easily one can read the alphabets and characters until the appropriate power is identified.

Regular eye examinations are important because: having your vision corrected can improve the quality of day-to-day life. they will help detect certain eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration, which could lead to sight loss. poor vision could be a risk for falls.

Everyone is being reminded of the importance of good eye health and of having their eyes tested every two years. Looking after your eyes is just as important as looking after the rest of your body.
