The Social Welfare and Women’s Activity Committee hosted a vibrant International Women’s Day and Precious Seniors Event at the Social Hall, Bashundhara, bringing together members of the Jamat for an evening of empowerment, reflection, and celebration.

The Women’s Day segment focused on encouraging women to step forward, pursue financial independence, and contribute meaningfully as productive homemakers. This empowering message was delivered through a motivational talk and an engaging skit that illustrated how families can support women in achieving these goals.

The Precious Seniors program highlighted the invaluable role of seniors in the community and aimed to foster deeper connections between them and the youth. Through interviews conducted by young volunteers, the program explored the personal journeys of seniors, their education, achievements, leisure activities, and wisdom. Seniors also shared cherished memories of Jamati deedar with the Imam of the time and offered heartfelt advice to the younger generation.

The youth, guided by a set of structured questions, gained insights into the lives of seniors, uncovering both similarities and differences between generations. Their interviews, collected over several months, were transformed into a touching presentation, celebrating the experiences and contributions of seniors while emphasizing the importance of intergenerational bonds.

The evening concluded with a delightful performance by the seniors, who entertained the audience with a heartfelt song. Dinner was served, and the event left attendees inspired and united, celebrating the strength of women and honoring the legacy of seniors in the community.
