The coronavirus, responsible for Covid-19, has already undergone several mutations since the beginning of the pandemic: from the first variant to JN.1, currently the main in circulation in the world. The virus
has already been transformed in such a way that some scientists advocate that the 'descendants' of Omicron be classified with other viruses, SARS-CoV-3.
Experts, according to the Brazilian publication 'Metrópole', have already analysed many of the symptoms associated with Covid-19, ranging from signs of flu to complex problems, such as sudden sensorineural hearing loss (PANS), for example.
According to Leonardo Weissmann, university professor and doctor at the Emílio Ribas Institute of Infectiology in São Paulo, the most common symptoms presented by patients with Covid-19 continue to
be like those of the flu and colds. "Therefore, it can be difficult to know just by the symptoms if it is Covid-19 or not. That is why it is important to perform the test - in the face of a positive result, one must isolate oneself and avoid the spread of the virus," said the expert.
According to the person in charge, the most common symptoms of Covid-19 currently are:
– fever or chills
– usually dry and persistent cough
– tiredness
– sore throat
– headaches
– muscle pain all over the body
– nasal congestion
– nausea and vomiting
– diarrhoea
"Ideally, the test should be done in the first 3 and 5 days of symptoms, when the viral load is higher. Even without signs, if you have contact with someone positive, taking the test is advisable because the
infection can occur before the symptoms appear,” Weissmann warned.
