An event celebrating the World Speech Day was held by the National Council for Bangladesh on the 8^th of April, 2017 at the Social Hall of the Ismaili Jamatkhana and Center. Audience attending the event consisted of the civil society, students and teachers from leading schools and Members of the National Council and other Institutions. The speaker line-up had renowned authors like Saad Hossain, Ms Maimuna Ahmed s from the development sector , motivational speaker Ms Shahana Sharmin, Ms Aliza Jessani from the Aga Khan School, Dhaka and the Resident Representative of  AKDN Bangladesh, H.E. Munir Meralis among others. The session was an endeavor to educate school going children and teachers the power of the spoken word and how to master the art of speech making . Between interactive speeches and tutorial videos, the 2hour long program was a full house event.
