Many events are organized at the Jamatkhana that aspire to stimulate the intellect, encourage dialogue, and celebrate cultural diversity in the greater Dallas area. At all of these programs, our Jamat, volunteers and leaders have welcomed our neighbors, friends and leaders from academia, civil society, cultural and civic organizations to experience the Ismaili Jamatkhana in Plano, meet members of the Jamat, and to better understand the community.
Council leadership have also had the honor of inviting many civic leaders to have lunch at our Jamatkhana to learn more about Mawlana Hazar Imam and Ismaili community in an intimate setting. These lunch events generally begin with President Nizar Didarali welcoming the leaders and introducing them to our volunteers, followed by lunch and a presentation by Samina Hooda, Communications Coordinator, which explains the values of compassion and pluralism as actualized by the work of the Imamat, and the activities of the Ismaili Community. The lunch includes a discussion about Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Jubilees, and concludes with a tour.
In all these occasions, the civic leaders have expressed their gratitude to learn more about Mawlana Hazar Imam, the Ismaili community and the values we uphold.
