As we prepare for Mawlana Hazar Imam's arrival in the United Kingdom, we look back on previous visits which included Mawlana Hazar Imam meeting with the country's leaders, establishing new projects and institutions, and meeting with the Jamat. With Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee visit quickly approaching, thousands of volunteers are working all hours, preparing to host Jamats from Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and across the UK.

Presented to honour the Diamond Jubilee of Mawlana Hazar Imam, a concert entitled Jubilee, hosted at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall, will celebrate the diversity, richness, and vitality of Muslim musical heritage and its expression in contemporary music making. Musical innovators from the Aga Khan Music Initiative, Kronos Quartet, and the Bassekou Kouyate Trio will perform pieces inspired by diverse traditions, developed from the meeting of different cultures.

Next week, the Aga Khan Centre will be opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam. Situated at the heart of London’s Knowledge Quarter, the Aga Khan Centre — home to the UK institutions founded by Mawlana Hazar Imam — will be a place for education, cultural exchange, and insight into Muslim civilisations.

Roshni was a series of enlightening concerts celebrating the Diamond Jubilee in JUne 2018, featuring the Imam's previous visits to the United Kingdom. It took the jamat on an emotional trip down memory lane, through music, film and dance.

 

The Ismaili Leaders’ International Forum (LIF) has announced that Mawlana Hazar Imam will grant Diamond Jubilee visits to France and the United Kingdom in the latter part of June 2018.

This year World Kidney Association teamed up with International Women’s day to make ‘Kidneys & Women’s Health’ their focus for 2018.  Read more to learn about this disease and why women are less likely to receive kidney transplants and what changes are being made.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Women’s Portfolio presented ‘Press for Progress’ on March 13th 2018 at the Ismaili Centre. A distinguished panel of change makers reflected on progress made, called for change and celebrated acts of determination by women from all walks of life, who continue to play an extraordinary role to effect change for others. 

Jubilee 2018: An Intercultural Concert was held on 29 April 2018 in Stockholm, Sweden, in celebration of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee. The concert featured a dazzling array of Master Musicians of the Aga Khan Music Initiative and Guests and was webcast live on the.ismaili. 

Mehfil-e-Noor was a very special gathering of some of the finest international sufi artists, in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Mawlana Hazar Imam in the United Kingdom held at the London Palladium on Sunday 13th May 2018.

The Ismaili Centre, London, in collaboration with the Institute of Ismaili Studies will host a conversation with Dr Shainool Jiwa, the author, with Mahmood Ahmed about her new publication. The event is due to begin at 8:15pm BST on Thursday 26 April and will be webcast live at http://the.ismaili/live

As part of the Diamond Jubilee Lecture Series, The Ismaili Centre, London, in collaboration with the Aga Khan Foundation, will host a conversation with Jesse Fripp, General Manager of the Aga Khan Agency for Microfinance, and Maria Largey, Director and Head of Financial Institutions at the CDC Group, moderated by Yasmin Alibhai-Brown. The event is due to begin at 8:30pm BST on Thursday 19 April and will be webcast live at http://the.ismaili/live

On the joyous occasion of Navroz, we are happy to share with you a letter from the UK Prime Minister, The Rt Hon Teresa May, to the Ismaili Community. The letter is a reflection on 60 years of Mawlana Hazar Imam promoting peace, pluralism, improved quality of life and good governance.

iCERV – Ismaili Community Engaged in Responsible Volunteering provides opportunities to volunteer in numerous ways, partnering with various charities and organisations. While the 'Beast from the East' brought extreme weather and plunging temperatures, iCERV provided support to the homeless in Cardiff.

Her Majesty the Queen today hosted a dinner at Windsor Castle to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Mawlana Hazar Imam.

World-class musicians took to the stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday 20 June in a unique concert to honour the Diamond Jubilee of Mawlana Hazar Imam. It celebrated the diversity, richness and vitality of Muslim musical heritage in a contemporary expression.
