The Womex Festival's mission is to publicize and promote music from around the world and to celebrate “cultural and musical diversity”. Now in its 28th edition, it is a renowned festival where music professionals from all over the world come to get to know the best that is made in music worldwide.

This year, in Lisbon, the organization will give preponderance to Portuguese-speaking music, but music from Ireland, Estonia, Argentina, Ghana, Israel, South Korea, among others, will also pass through these stages.

More than 1300 artists competed, to be selected only 60 of the best, by a panel of juries, in order to promote different styles and musical genres, and to seek a balance between male and female artists.

The festival will take place between the 19th and 23rd of October between the Tivoli BBVA Theater and the Cineteatro Capitólio. Although the festival is aimed at professionals, the organization will make tickets available to the public, due to the interest it has generated in its previous editions.
