This year, Camp ILUMINAR had over 110 participants with different nationalities and origins, including Portugal, France, Angola, Congo, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Syria and Switzerland. It was heart-warming to see participants with different backgrounds come together to form lasting connections and friendships.

The Camp ILUMINAR team would like to thank specifically to all the families that hosted participants from France and Switzerland. The participants mentioned how much they appreciated it, how welcome they felt, and how it was one of the many highlights of their time in Portugal, during the camp. To be able to host around 30 international participants in our own homes shows the unity and engagement in our Global Jamat.

In addition to the hard work of the planning team, we had the aid of numerous volunteers who went above and beyond to make the camp a success, including organizing airport transportation for our international guests, dropping participants off to host families, coordinating deliveries of all the merchandise, being on-call for any potential medical issues, and assisting with the preparation of the food for one of the meals at the camp.

The 14 monitors part of team, that were at the camp, worked tirelessly to ensure the participants were having the best experience possible and also create an engaging and inclusive space for everyone.

On behalf of the Camp ILUMINAR team, Youth & Sports would like to, once again, thank everyone who contributed to making it a success: the parents, countless volunteers, leadership and specially the participants.

Thank you all and see you on the next edition of Camp ILUMINAR!
