3-year Fixed Term Contract
Based: The Ismaili Centre, South Kensington, London
Role: The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) invites applications for the role of Researcher and Educator. This role will play a pivotal role in assisting the Ismaili Tariqah and Religious Education Board (ITREB) to fulfil its mandate to provide religious education to all levels of the Jamat, train and upgrade religious education teachers and waezeen, engage in research, prepare materials and publications and be a point of reference and consultation for Mukhi/Kamadia in matters of religious practices.
They will be responsible for the academic direction, quality and management of the religious education system at all levels, paying specific attention to the (a) post-secondary/ youth, (b) young adult (c) adult and (d) senior segments within the context and mandate of the ITREB both within the UK and regions in Europe that fall within the UK jurisdiction.
Person Profile: You should be a professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an academic research setting, and who has played education leadership roles.
A Master’s degree in Islamic or Ismaili Studies or a related field is a minimum requirement. A background in education, the humanities and/or counselling /coaching would be an asset.
