The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) in London, UK, seeks to recruit an Early Learning Officer for a dual role in assisting with its Pre-Primary and Primary Curriculum projects in the Department of Curriculum Studies. This is a full-time, 3 year fixed-term contract, based at the Aga Khan Centre in London.

The Early Learning Officer will report to the Primary Curriculum Coordinator, assuming a dual role, with a principal focus on the Pre-Primary Curriculum project. The work will involve contributing to Early Childhood Development programmes, curriculum planning and development, parental support training, and professional development of ECD practitioners. The Early Learning Officer will also support the digital upgrading of the Primary Ta‘lim Curriculum through a phased approach, applying an interactive teaching and learning pedagogy.

Working with multi-faceted programmes on Pre-Primary Education and the Lower Primary, the Early Learning Officer will provide specialist input into the educational development of children aged between 3-8 years. This input will feed into relevant human resource development and training contexts, curricular frameworks, teaching and learning resources, and the effective use of digital media and technology as tools in the instructional process within the upgraded curriculum materials.

The prospective candidate will have a postgraduate qualification in Education and teaching experience with the 3-8 years age group, be familiar with the IIS’s Ta‘lim Curriculum and the ECE Integrated Curriculum Framework. They will have curriculum development expertise which requires the integration of religious, moral and cultural content into a broad-based humanistic curriculum. Some level of engagement with the use of digital technology and media in educational programmes will be an asset.
