Gulzar Quintino
Born in Mozambique in 1958, starts developing a taste for drawing and painting from a young age.
Between 1998 and 2001 attends a sculpture course at Ar.Co - Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual, Lisbon, which allows her to go through various experiences with the use of different materials and techniques.
The year-long training received in conservation and restoration at the Museum of Portimão allowed her to acquire a new insight on how to handle certain objects.
In addition to ephemeral sculptures, she makes use of unusual materials and everyday life objects. Sculpture as a form of therapy and meditation has been a constant.
In the more recent years, she has dedicated herself to ephemeral works focusing on environmental and social issues.
