Dear members of the Jamat of Spain, Ya Ali Madad.

We present to you newsletter n. 12, wishing you all Navroz Mubarak. Navroz (Nawruz, Nowruz) falls this year in the month of Ramadan, a month in which, as Muslims, we make an effort (which we try to make permanent) to improve our faults, to be more generous with our time and means, to be more grateful for what we have, and it is also a time of spiritual search. Our fervent wish for this new year, in the rebirth of spring, is for the restoration of peace and security for all those who live in places where there is conflict and despair.

The Spanish Jamat is one of the oldest in Europe (if not the oldest, indeed) and, as such, we want to present to you through this newsletter some events and news which have the aim of bringing the Jamat together, informing you of the most recent developments, enjoying moments together and feeling part of a Community that has a lot to offer its members, although sometimes we do not realise it or are unaware of it.

Furthermore, as in every newsletter, we present a series of articles, Sufi stories, inspiring news published by the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in recent months and the drawings of the Ta'lim students in the Jamat of Spain, done with much love for the whole Jamat.

Mawlana Hazir Imam, continually reiterates to us the importance of unity in the Community and helping each other. In essence, it is this unity and support among members that makes us part of the Ismaili community. Therefore, we take advantage of this editorial to call on all members of the Jamat who wish to join and participate in the different teams we have, with projects to improve the presence and visibility of our Jamat in Spain, as well as to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of its members. Any kind of volunteering, regardless of where we are or the time we have available, will be welcome.

We would like to inform you of a very special event that the National Council of Spain is preparing with the aim of bringing together the whole Jamat so that, for the first time in a long time, we can meet and spend a fun weekend together, full of entertainment. It is a sporting event, with a paddle tournament. It will take place in Barcelona between the 18th (Saturday) and 19th (Sunday) of May 2024. There will be more sports and activities for those members who do not know or cannot play padel, but want to be part of this event. There will be Jamati members from Portugal coming to give us support and play with us and there will even be prizes for the winners! In order to organise it in the best possible way for everyone, we ask you to fill in this questionnaire: Questionnaire sports event Barcelona. We look forward to your responses and we hope to see you all in Barcelona!

We hope you enjoy this newsletter and we wish you all once more, Navroz Mubarak!
