Ya ali madad,
The world has been facing an unprecedented and very challenging issue with the novel coronavírus COVID-19.
Angola has been in Emergency State since March 27th. This has come to an end. From May 26th a State of Calamity has been decreed by the President João Lourenço.
The decision, according to the Presidential Decree, issued and already published, aims to allow for the gradual process of a return to normal social life in the country, despite the recognition that there is still a "high risk of infection" of the novel coronavírus COVID-19.
The Angolan Government believes that "it cannot neglect the serious economic consequences that have resulted from the halt of social life and the undermining of fundamental rights". For this reason, with the new measures, it seeks "a proportional balance between the protection of public health and the normal exercise of economic and social activities".
Among other measures, as defined by the competent authorities, it is maintained the national health fence and is only allowed to leave or enter means of transport with humanitarian aid and food or persons for health and death reasons.
The province of Luanda will observe a special health fence in the period from 26th May until 23h59 on June 9th.
The economy will gradually open, however, the safety measures have to stay in place:
• Wash your hand regularly
• Practice social distancing
• Only go out in case of need
• Use of facial mask
