How can I increase my child's potential? The context, basic care and activities we introduce to children can change the course of their lives, if we think about it.

"...the evidence accumulates steadily showing that an investment made in the earliest, pre-school years can bring enormous dividends as a child proceeds from one level of education to another".

His Highness the Aga Khan, Mombasa (Kenya), 2007

Early Childhood Education and Care focuses on the first 8 years of life, from birth (and even during pregnancy). By providing quality care and attention during this period, during which science tells us the brain develops intensely, we are capitalising on the child's potential. According to UNESCO, "it can build the foundations for good health and nutrition, school success, socio-emotional learning, and lifelong economic productivity".

Therefore, we find different options to promote children's development and potential, whether it's by attending kindergartens, playgroups, pre-school or parenting sessions.

To promote the development of Jamat's children, AKEB in partnership with ITREB created the "Baby Steps" Programme.

The Baby Steps Programme is integrated into the religious education programme of the Talim curriculum for all Jamat families. This unique program will provide your family with tools to integrate religious education in early childhood, making it an integral part of your family routine.
