The afternoon started with guided tours of the Ismaili Centre, with our fantastic guides. Both D.A.M.A and our distinguished guests were impressed by the peace and tranquility that the space transmits, in particular the Char-bagh.
The second highlight of the visit was, of course, the prayer room. The generalized reaction was actually silence and stillness that the space itself inspires in people.
The band members were really surprised by the size, architecture, beauty and even the acoustics of the Ismaili Centre. They asked numerous questions ranging from architecture to the context of our community and its origins and the work developed by the institutions and by Mawlana Hazar Imam.
Once the round of guided tours was over, the long-awaited moment arrived!
Guided by our wonderful interviewers, D.A.M.A addressed various issues related to a career in music.
They spoke about choices in the areas of training and careers and emphasized that the most important thing is to understand what we truly like to do and commit ourselves to it. A career change, more in line with our ambitions, is always possible, at any time, as long as there is commitment, engagement and discipline.
They gave examples of their lives and their journey so far, and it was clear that, in fact, they make music because they really like to share it with the world.
They sang and enchanted the audience with their songs “Pensa bem”, “Às vezes” and “A casa”, their most recent release. And they responded, enthusiastically and in a very genuine way, to all the questions posed by our young audience, always with excellent advice.
Our young guests left the event delighted and very happy to have had this opportunity to spend an afternoon, in such an intimate and close environment, with one of the most famous bands in the country!
One of young guests – Maria Carita – left us a testimony that made us very happy:
“From the entrance to its exterior, passing through its ¾ of natural space between the four wonderful gardens and the orange garden. A space that transmits calm and transports us to a world with an admirable dimension of beauty! From the most surprising curiosities to the details of the place, in addition to broadening my knowledge, the guided tour through the Ismaili Centre showed me the perfection that a detail contributes to beauty. From geometry to color sense! The intersection with D.A.M.A was an incredible experience in which we addressed not only musical topics but also useful for some of us who are making certain small decisions for the future! It was a really well spent afternoon in an environment that conveys sublime tranquility and a mix of sensations! A sublime and stunning place!”
