This session’s guest was Vazir Nazim Ahamad, diplomatic representative of the Ismaili Imamat, and the topic of the conversation was the Imamat activity in Portugal.
The meeting took place on the January 7th, with the participation of 130 young people of various nationalities.
The event started at 08:30pm with a buffet dinner, where the participants had the opportunity to talk and socialize with each other and with some community leaders, followed by the exhibition of the video about the restoration of the Henrique Mendonça Palace, now known as the Diwan.
After dinner, the long-awaited conversation with Vazir Nazim Ahmad began, with the participation of the President of the National Council, Rai Rahim Firozali.
The conversation took place in a casual manner, where Vazir Nazim Ahmad shared his “Sewa” journey over about 30 years and his role as a diplomatic representative nowadays.
The conversation was focused on the Imamat in Portugal, what is its significance in historical terms, what is the purpose and impact of the Diwan in Portugal and the diplomatic relations between the Imamat and the Portuguese government, among others.
This was followed by a Q&A session, in which the participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the guests and intervene and share matters they found important. Their voices were heard with great attention.
President Rahim Firozali also shared some important advice for the young generation.
“Regardless of the doubts and personal issues that young people have or might have during their lives, always stay connected to our community, and if you think that something is not satisfactory, share it and come be part of the change”.
The conversation didn't stop there, after the debate there was still time to eat dessert, chat a little more, think about a next event, and take some pictures.
