One of the most relevant measures entails a 60-day moratorium provided by financial institutions on interest and capital repayments. Financial institutions should provide moratorium in the following conditions:
• Upon client’s request
• For performing loans under the repayment period or for performing loans with repayment initiated after March 2020.
Furthermore, the instruction foresees additional benefits as financial institutions are unable to modify instalment amounts and they must suspend all enforcement proceedings, admonishments, the constitution of customers in arrears resulting from the delay in the compliance of the obligations to pay capital and interest, when such payments cannot be performed due to the impact of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. All measures foreseen in this instruction should be exempt from commissions and expenses.
