“Quake”, the latest museum to open in Lisbon, brings us a super enriching experience about one of the most remarkable events in the history of Lisbon and Portugal - the great earthquake of 1755.
On November 1st, 1755, Lisbon suffered a terrible earthquake, followed by a tsunami - phenomena that doesn´t usually happen in Europe - and a whole week of fires that devastated entire areas of the city.
What was it like to live in this period? What does the current architecture tell us about these events? What was pre-earthquake Lisbon like? Have you ever imagined walking in the medieval alleys of downtown Lisbon?
Come and discover all this and more in “Quake”. Currently, in a soft opening phase, the museum will offer, until May 8th, tickets with 50% discounts.
“Quake - Centro do Terramoto de Lisboa” is located next to Avenida da India, in the historic area of Belém. You can find out all the details and book your tickets at: https://lisbonquake.com/
