Fostering art and culture through live performances is one of the program objectives of Ismaili Centres. In partnership with Prabhas Arts, the Ismaili Centre, Toronto hosted a Kathak Dance performance titled Dhamaar a Fantasy of Kathak Dance.
This program was an exploration of Kathak dance in the majestic rhythmic cycle of 14 beats known as Dhamaar – considered one of the most challenging rhythms in Indian classical music and dance, it offers a dancer endless possibilities to depict various moods and colours in Kathak dance.
Bageshree Vaze accompanied by Vineet Vyas on Tabla and Hardeep Chana on the Harmonium delivered a performance that amazed and delighted the audience of Kathak dance enthusiasts.
