In keeping with their tradition, the AKSG Band participated in this noble cause once again this year, in the presence of the Honourable Minister of Economy His Excellency Eng. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori.
The ‘Clean Up UAE Campaign’ was first organised by the Emirates Environmental Group some 16 years ago to coincide with the UAE National Day celebrations. In 2017, 10,000 volunteers collected 21.75 tons of waste as part of the ‘Clean-up UAE Campaign.’
This worthwhile campaign contributes to the protection and enhancement of the environment and the natural heritage of the nation. While the AKSG band has seen many generations of band leaders, flutists, drummers and percussionists, the one thing that has remained constant is the long-term relationship with the campaign and the commitment to the cause. The AKSG band performed as part of the opening ceremonies for the participants and has contributed to the clean-up process over the years.
