The Edgewater Community Religious Association (ECRA) conducted its annual interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 19, 2017, and was hosted at the North Shore Baptist Church.

The interfaith service featured 11 choirs joining in song from nearby participating congregations, including the  Chicago Downtown Ismaili Jamatkhana, which has been an active member of ECRA since 1993.

The service began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an,  Malik Gillani, with the translation read by Amber Gillani. Midwest AKYSB Chairman, Asif Samani delivered an address on Thanksgiving from an Islamic perspective.  The Ismaili Youth Choir also performed during the service.

The celebration brought together various faith communities to celebrate the neighborhood’s diversity and give thanks for all that we have this holiday season.
