Since the inauguration, Rays of Light has toured France, the UK, Portugal, the United States, UAE, Canada, Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Australia and New Zealand. Over 100,000 Ismaili and non-Ismaili community members have viewed the exhibition, and more than 10,000 volunteers have rendered their service to make this exhibition possible.
Meena Naik, from the Central United States, has led the recruitment and training process for Rays of Light volunteers across the country. In her reflections, she stated: “My experience has been an incredibly inspiring and humbling one. I know the work of the Imam, the impact of his leadership -- not just in guiding and nurturing Ismailis, but also a global leader and change agent for humanity. Even with that knowledge, Rays of Light offers me a unique perspective and connection to these endeavors which feel far away from me in the USA. The projects aren’t just stories anymore; they transform into something that inspires and rekindles my desire to do better, be better, and serve better. I wouldn't trade that for anything, and am grateful to have contributed in a small way to the success of this program."
The exhibition is one that stimulates our intellectual, emotional and spiritual senses, and encourages us to reflect upon the nature of Imamat and to wonder at the achievements of the last 60 years. The Diamond Jubilee version of the exhibit includes several new ways to interact and engage with the exhibit such as virtual reality and 360-degree videos, including never seen before photographs. Many feel pride and joy as volunteers, to collaborate towards hosting the first of many exhibitions around the world.
“I am honored and blessed to be part of Rays of Light, an exhibit that is so close to our beloved Imam. The energy and passion I experience through my innumerable interactions with everyone involved, lights a powerful spark of spirituality and cohesiveness.” Sana Hussain-Allana, Registration Lead for Rays of Light, USA
This memorable exhibition will tour the United States in 2017-2018 and should provide a unique Diamond Jubilee experience for all viewers. The Jamat is encouraged to tour the exhibition as a family, with friends, neighbors, and business colleague.
