What is the Jubilee Arts Festival?
The Jubilee Arts Festival is a Diamond Jubilee global initiative intended to feature art created by Ismailis and their interfaith spouses and children from around the world.
What are the different events for the Arts Festival?
There will be three events held for the Jubilee Arts Festival: the Art Gallery; the Film Festival; and the Talent Showcase.

What are the submission deadlines for entry pieces?
The submission deadline for ALL artwork is January 24, 2018.
What are the guidelines for submitting artwork?

Who can submit artistic pieces for the Jubilee Arts Festival?
Any and all Ismaili community members along with interfaith spouses and children of Ismailis who would like to share their artistic work with the global Jamat.
What kind of artwork can be submitted?
Nearly all forms of art can be submitted. The Jubilee Arts Festival comprises three events: the Jubilee Art Gallery, Jubilee Film Festival, and Jubilee Talent Showcase.
Are there certain restrictions on what can and cannot be submitted?
Yes there are restrictions on items which should not be submitted. These include images of the Imams or Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Family; Personal Standard of Mawlana Hazar Imam; Imamat Crest; Ismaili Flag; Nashid-al Imamah; Taj; Volunteer badges; Jubilee logos; AKDN and other institutional logos. Clear images of children under 18 should contain a documented consent of parent or legal guardian.
The Jubilee Arts Festival team reserves the right to make final decision on what items may be prohibited.
How are the submissions going to be judged and by whom?
Specific criteria will be applied to evaluate the art in each event. Jurors are being carefully selected and will be provided international guidelines for evaluating submissions. Please click here if you would like to apply to be a juror.
Are there going to be different rounds of qualifications?
Yes. All submissions will be displayed first at a Regional Arts Festival to be held around the country. A selection of submissions displayed at the Regional Arts Festivals will be invited to the National Arts Festival to be held in March/April 2018. Finally, a selection of submissions displayed at the National Arts Festival will be invited to be displayed at the Jubilee International Arts Festival in the summer of 2018.
Is there a theme or categories for subject matter for artwork?
Yes. The overarching theme is the concept of Imamat and everything Mawlana Hazar Imam has done for the Jamat through the Institutions and other channels. There are four creative prompts for artists to engage with the broader theme: Time, Legacy, Aspiration, and Devotion.
Are there any fees to participate in the Jubilee Arts Festival?
Yes, a registration fee will be charged based on the cost of each festival. Cost for the Regional Art Festivals is described below:
For individual or group submissions where group size is 11 or less participants:
$40 per participant. For multiple submissions by the same participant, the fees structure is as below for a maximum of 3 submissions per participant:

Are artists allowed to collaborate?
Artists can work in teams. There is no maximum size of teams for submissions to the Art Gallery and Film Festival. Maximum team size for the Talent Showcase is 20 artists. All artists within a team that are involved in submissions must be Ismaili or the interfaith spouses or children of Ismailis. An exception to this would be in the Film Festival, where the film producers and individuals submitting the film need only be Ismaili or interfaith spouses or children. Other members such as actors, extras, etc can be interfaith individuals.
When do I need to have created my artwork? Can I submit artwork that I created in the past?
All art must be the original work of the Artists submitting the artwork. Submissions no longer have to be created after July 2017. Artists may choose to submit work that they have previously created at any time as long as it can be related to one of the four creative prompts.
How will artwork be set up and displayed?
Art work will be set up and displayed by the Jubilee Arts Festival Team, with the exception of any complex 3D/Sculpture, Digital Installations or Built Environment submissions that require artist assistance to properly set up.
How do I submit my art?
Click here to submit your art electronically. You will need to upload video to a hosting website like DropBox, Google Drive or YouTube. For the Art Gallery, you should upload a walk around video of your art as well as still pictures of your art from several angles. Video and pictures should be clear, high quality, and high resolution.
