The International Women’s Club of Kinshasa (IWC) is a social and philanthropic membership-based organization comprised of women from local and international communities. In addition to providing a social space for women from all over the world, the Club also provides assistance to local community projects. The tour was lead by Vice President Temiza Nathoo who was assisted by Shazmah Ladak, Administrative Office for the National Council.
The tour commenced with a brief introduction of the Ismaili community; followed by a description of the architecture, key design elements and landscape of the prayer hall and center. Vice President Temiza also gave a presentation on the activities of AKDN across the globe followed by a video on AKDN’s social, cultural and economic impact in the societies in which it operates as well as videos on the
Aga Khan Award for Architecture.
Following the guided tour was a Q & A session and light refreshments were served.
