Toronto, 6 May 2017 - Narratives of Home, an exhibition of photographic images by refugee and new comer students, opened on 6 May 2017 with a public event featuring all workshop participants and organisers of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival.
The exhibited photographs were created by students during a workshop in March, 2017. The Exhibition was open to the public from May 6 to June 30, 2017 and received emotive reviews from the public. The exhibition was also featured prominently at Doors Open Toronto, May 27-28 at the Ismaili Centre, with many guests lined up to view the images and ephemera on display. This exhibition was an initiative and partnership between the Ismaili Council for Canada and Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival as part of celebrating Canada’s sesquicentennial.
CONTACT is the largest photography event in the world and a premiere cultural experience in Canada, with over 1500 artists in 200 exhibitions and happenings throughout the month in the Greater Toronto Area.
