On Harmony Day the Ismaili Sydney and Melbourne centers conducted a  ‘Walk Together for Harmony’ event was to invite friends, neighbours and colleagues to celebrate the shared value that “everyone belongs”.  The event consisted of a 2km and 5km walk along the water where walkers were given interesting topics on their heritage and culture to discuss along the way.

Despite inclement weather both centers had a fun filled day as the walkers from various communities built relationships across cultures and celebrating the diversity and pluralism that makes Australia a great nation.
In keeping with the true spirit of Harmony Day there were multicultural activities for all ages including, the performance from the Ismaili Pipe Band in Melbourne.

In Sydney, a unique multicultural show included performances from the Cook Islands, Pamir’ mountains, classical Indian and Bollywood. There were a wide array of stalls too which included photo booth, henna, rock art, Turkish gozleme, Indian street food and a delicious cupcake stall.
