Dubai, 16 June 2016 — His Excellency Tariq Al Gurg, CEO of Dubai Cares and Caroline Arnold, Director of Education at the Aga Khan Foundation led a lively discussion on education at the Ismaili Centre, Dubai. The event showcased the long-term solutions that these leading development agencies are bringing to communities in need in Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Hosted in collaboration with the Afghan and Tanzanian consulates to the United Arab Emirates, the event was part of the Ismaili Centre's annual Suhoor Speakers Series during the holy month of Ramadan. More than 200 guests, including members of the diplomatic corps, government dignitaries, academics and professionals from the field of education were in attendance.
For Muslims across the globe, Ramadan is a month of reflection on the values that underpin Islam. Guided by the vision and leadership of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Mawlana Hazar Imam respectively, Dubai Cares and the Aga Khan Foundation are driven by a shared concern for upholding the ethic of human dignity.
