Dr Stephen R. Burge delivered the annual Milad-un-Nabi Lecture at the Ismaili Centre, London on Tuesday, 12 January 2016. He spoke on the topic of Angels and Revelations of the Future in the Birth, Life and Death of the Prophet.

Milad-un-Nabi marks the anniversary of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him and his family). To commemorate this anniversary, the Ismaili Centre, London hosts an annual lecture on a particular aspect of the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet.

A research associate at The Institute of Ismaili Studies since 2009, Dr Stephen R. Burge completed his doctorate at the University of Edinburgh. He has published a monograph on angels in Islam, as well as a number of articles on angels, exegesis and interpretation. He is also co-editing and translating a volume of the Anthology of Qur’anic Commentaries Series on the Pillars of Islam, and editing a volume titled The Meaning of the Word: Lexicology and Qur’anic Exegesis.
