The Ismaili Centre, inaugurated in July 1998, symbolises the permanent presence and core values of the Ismaili community in Portugal. Over the past 25 years, it has become a space for cultural exchange, fostering dialogue and creating opportunities between the Ismaili community and global society.
The stamp collection includes four stamps, each showcasing distinct architectural features of the Centre: the Char Bagh garden, the exterior of the Prayer Hall, the geometric details of the Pátio Primavera, and the domes of the secondary entrance. Priced at €4.05, the collection is limited to 70,000 copies.
CTT has previously commemorated significant milestones of the Ismaili community and its global initiatives through special stamp issues. In 2018, a stamp was issued to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Mawlana Hazar Imam, marking 60 years of leadership and the contributions of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Additionally, a 2007 stamp recognised the Aga Khan Foundation’s (AKF) work in poverty alleviation and rural development.
In recent years, CTT also released stamps dedicated to the Aga Khan Award for Architecture and the Aga Khan Music Awards, recognising the promotion of excellence in architecture and music as part of Hazar Imam’s broader mission to foster cultural understanding and creative expression globally.
The official launch ceremony of the Ismaili Centre Lisbon’s anniversary stamp will take place in December, bringing together community members, dignitaries, and partners to celebrate this unique occasion.
