Mindfulness is an invitation to welcome what is unfolding in the present moment with an open heart and mind. It is the awareness that emerges when we deliberately pay attention to what is happening in the here and now, with an attitude of acceptance.

The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme is recognised worldwide for supporting individuals in situations of stress, depression and anxiety. Based on extensive research, this programme explores the transformative capacity of the human mind.

Our online MBSR course consists of 8 sessions, to be held on Mondays from 2 September, from 8pm to 10pm, culminating in a half-day retreat.

Testimonial from the 2nd edition of the programme:

“The Present is the ever moving shadow that divides Yesterday from Tomorrow”
Frank Lloyd Wright - 1867/1959

This excellent quote defines the present as a ‘shadow’ and, as a shadow it is with the thousand thoughts that pass through our minds in our daily lives, in this turbulent present, it clouds what is essential in everyone's life, reducing lucidity for a centered, connected, balanced, serene, healthy and full life.

Everyone, without exception, is looking for balance in this “dance of life”.
Within the Ismaili Community there is an excellent trainer - Rahman Rener - who many of you already know, and who has made himself available to give training on the much-talked-about subject of Mindfulness as a service to the community.

Many people have a vague idea about it. There's nothing like taking this opportunity to become fully aware of the fact that mindfulness transforms us inwardly into a Being consciously connected with ourselves, thus changing the way we are in the world.

"I took the course. I grew, I improved my personal meditation and I'm frankly happy with the experience. The 8 sessions only end with an incredible silent retreat that was magnificent for everyone. I highly recommend it. From the bottom of my heart, WELL DONE to Rahman and the Aga Khan Health Board for promoting this initiative."
