On 14 February, an exchange and sharing of best practice session with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) took place in Paris, at the Institutions' headquarters, and brought together staff from the National Council's Settlement programme, leadership and UNHCR staff.

This session follows on from a meeting held last November between the leadership of the National Council and senior officials from this United Nations agency.

Its objectives were to reinforce the principles of community protection and support for refugees, and to contribute to the professional training of staff.

Other collaborative initiatives are planned with this agency in the coming weeks, which will enable us to continue to respond as effectively as possible to the various needs of the newly-arrived Jamat.
