Since early this summer, more than 2,400 artists have come together across seven regional Ismaili Art Festivals throughout the country to showcase their talent and passion. We're thrilled to share that, in just a few weeks, 580 of those artists will participate in the National United States Ismaili Arts Festival in Houston from January 20–21, 2024.
Attendees will have the opportunity to witness the extraordinary talents showcased in visual arts, performing arts, and filmmaking. The festival aims to spotlight the commitment and countless hours invested by Ismaili artists to perfect their craft and provide a platform for their creative expressions to shine.
This year’s theme of “CARE” resonates deeply with all of us as we embrace the principles of healthy competition and foster a tightly-knit Jamat. By exploring the relationship between our personal interconnectivity and how it influences the care we extend to the things we share — our planet, our environment, our Jamat, our heritage, and ourselves — we can strengthen our identity and address the crucial challenges of our era.
The George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, will serve as a hub for the festivities. We invite the Jamat, multifaith families, and friends to join and experience the commitment and dedication these artists have invested in their craft. Spectator programming will include the opportunity to engage in various art forms through engaging workshops featuring accomplished choreographers and pop-rock musicians.
Months of dedication from artists, volunteers, and various members of the Jamat have paved the way for this grand artistic spectacle. The festival organizers extend their warm appreciation to all volunteers and encourage the Jamat, from near and far to join them in Houston for a memorable celebration of artistic achievement within the Ismaili community.
