On 17 and 18 December we will celebrate a historic moment for our Community in Portugal. The celebration of the 26th anniversary of laying of the foundation stone of the Ismaili Centre, which marked the beginning of a new phase for the community.

Português

A new era of growth, consolidation and opening to new areas of knowledge and culture.

Part of Mawlana Hazar Imam's mandate, for the Centre and for the Community, was to build bridges with the society and to make this space a centre for sharing and open dialogue. Furthermore, in recent years, Mawlana Hazar Imam has also reinforced the importance of art and culture for the Community, and has even created Jubilee Arts as a way to promote art and our artists in their various forms.

In recent years, we have seen a growth in the number of artists we have in our midst. From painting, to sculpture, photography, dance, music and design, we have been discovering and promoting different art forms and our valuable talents.

On the weekend of the 17th and 18th December, as part of the Open House programme, we are promoting the first group exhibition of the artists who participated in our virtual art gallery - elevArte, where you can appreciate works of painting, illustration and design.

Besides the exhibition, we will have different musical performances throughout the weekend, and explore different cultural traditions that are part of the DNA of the Community.

It is our wish that you take this weekend to get a deeper understanding not only of our Ismaili Centre, and all that it represents in its architecture, but also the work that our artists have been developing.

We challenge you to bring, especially, your friends to get to know us a little better. We will have guided tours and moments of art and culture to enrich the programme.

Guided tours have limited availability and can be booked through this link: https://forms.gle/gkf8BJTR7kwVNP5m8
