Ismaili Centre, Dubai
United Arab Emirates

At the request of His Excellency Peter Claes, Ambassador of Belgium, the Ismaili Centre Dubai partnered with the Embassy for a concert by Crossbones Trombones, an ensemble of five Trombone players, to mark 50 years of Belgium and the United Arab Emirates having established diplomatic relations.

The concert contributed to intensifying the long standing cultural cooperation between the Belgium Embassy and the Ismaili Centre.

Crossbones is a professional trombone collective with a great view of classical music and crossover music. Founded in Ghent, part of UNESCO’s creative cities of music network, The Crossbones ensemble played the trombone to prove that the Trombone is a multi-functional instrument with a diverse repertoire.

In addition, Diplomatic Missions from Abu Dhabi and Dubai were amongst those who attended. Portugal, Tajikistan, Germany, France, Italy, United Kingdom, United States and Mexico were represented. The audience was also composed of high level members of the Belgium business community.
