As part of a series of activities of the Cultural Ambassadorship for Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), Anasy Media, in collaboration with the Ismaili Center Dubai and the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), recently organised a public symposium.
The symposium was held in the presence of Sheikha Alyazia Bint Nahyan Al Nahyan, the Ambassador for Culture for ALECSO and attended by leading historians, archaeologists and experts in the Arabic script and language, including representatives from academia, cultural authorities and institutions, the corporate sector, members of the diplomatic corps and educators.
The symposium was held to celebrate the UAE Golden Jubilee and the UN Arabic Language Day, seeking to raise awareness about the roots of the Arabic script and language, enabling a greater appreciation and value for its place in history and in contemporary settings.
Featuring two panels, the event explored the historical importance of rock inscriptions and the study of the cultural heritage of the region, while the other panel addressed the contributions that technology is making to the interpretation and dissemination of historical artefacts.
