The National Tournament has already ended and eight players have qualified in the Senior group and two in the Junior group. In the next phase, our players will participate in the European Tournament. It was with great pleasure that we noted the participation of all players, with high-standard games and, above all, the passage to the next phase of two players who reside in Spain and one in Angola.
The list of those who have gone through to the European Phase is as follows (in order of ranking):

The games took place online through Tornelo platform under the supervision of international arbiters. The Tournament in Portugal ran smoothly, there were moments of emotion in the games, some surprises but, in the end, the players were satisfied, had fun and were happy that the sense of sports justice was well reflected in the final ranking.
Next stage
There were over 1500 registered players from over 30 countries. Most national tournaments have already completed with two countries to go. In the next phase there will be some 250 players, 10 of which from Portugal. It will start on the 3rd of July, and the representatives of Portugal will play against the representatives of France and the United Kingdom. Six players representing Europe will qualify from this group, who will then compete in the finals at world level with representatives from other continents.
This is a tournament for individuals, but at the same time there will also be a Team competition. According to the Tournament regulations, each country (each team) must comprise of 4 players with the best rankings, in which one of them must be a Junior and one must be a female. Thus, for the finals, the Portugal team will be formed by:
- NAGUIB KARMALI
- KARIM ALI DAYA
- AMINAZ MITHA
- RAISSA RAJABALI
Of the four players, one is from Spain. Of note is also that Portuguese players have had important support from Nasir Allahdini, an emigrant from Iran, who lives in Barcelona, and is a professional in chess. Nasir has been giving regular lessons to Portuguese players, both those who are in the Tournament (as couch) and beginners.
Jamati members will be able to watch the matches live in the next phase through a link that will be posted at the time.
