Hope for a brighter future for all the children of the world.

Children's Day is a worldwide commemorative date celebrated annually in honor of children, the actual day of which varies by country.
In Angola, as in Mozambique and Portugal, it is celebrated on June 1st, the date proclaimed in 1925, during the World Conference for the Welfare of the Child in Geneva, the International Day of the Child.

UNICEF congratulated all Angolan Children and Families for this International Children's Day, despite the uncertainty that exists due to the pandemic.

UNICEF stated that “children are the majority of the Angolan population. More than fifty percent of the population is under the age of 18. This data can never go unnoticed, because it is a group with specific needs at all stages of development and a group on which the present and the future of the Nation depends! ”

Children's Day was celebrated this year around the world, in a restrictive context, due to the novel coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, which forced the closure of schools, daycare centers, and spaces for recreational and extra-curricular activities.

In countries in Africa, and other parts of the world, many families live in difficult situations and have challenging living conditions, which make them even more vulnerable to the novel coronavirus COVID-19.

Therefore civil society, international organizations and governments should continue to work together to further improve child protection mechanisms to ensure health, education and safety.

ECD @ Home, wanted to honor and congratulate all the children of the world through the active participation of our Ismaili children, whose messages of encouragement and a brighter future are very reflective in the images and videos we share in this article.
