Youth Coordinating Forum launched the region’s first Ismaili Youth Model United Nations (IYMUN) for ages 10 to 18 years. Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation of the United Nations and its various committees in which delegates collaborate and discuss global issues with the goal of arriving at optimal solutions.
As part of the registrations launch, an information session was arranged for prospective participants and their parents at the Ismaili Centre Dubai. After a rigorous application and selection process, Student Officers for the inaugural conference were officially announced followed by a badge ceremony.
IYMUN will take place from Friday, 29 November until Monday, 2 December. The conference will cover an opening ceremony, two training days, two days of committee sessions followed by a closing ceremony.
The conference will promote global awareness, cosmopolitan ethics and look to arrive at feasible and effective solutions to the challenges we face today. Delegates will gain a better understanding of the United Nations (UN), develop leadership skills, debating skills, learn about conflict resolution and negotiation in an in-depth and exciting learning experience.
