The music group Shams, led by singer Nobovar Chanorov is a fusion of the ancient musical and poetic traditions of the East and contemporary music of the West. The main idea of ​​the Shams group is the preservation of the ancient cultural and musical traditions of mountainous Tajikistan. Giving concerts not only at home, but also in Russia, Western Europe, the United States, Afghanistan and India, the musicians gained tremendous experience and inspiration for creating new songs and instrumental compositions. In the arrangements of the Shams group, the sounds of traditional national instruments such as the Pamir rubab, Sethor, Indian Tabla, Tajik tjavak and doira harmoniously intertwine with modern instruments such as electro guitar, drum and saxophone, etc. The texts of most songs are poems of great, ancient poets and philosophers of the East, such as Rumi, Hafiz, Rudaki, Hiloli, as well as ancient Pamir folklore. In 2002, the group traveled as part of the Aga Khan Trust For Culture project, and Silk Road throughout Europe and the USA. In 2003, they performed at Via Kabul in Paris, France. Also in 2008-2009, after the tour to the Russian cities, they toured India. 
 
At home, Shams is very popular and is a laureate of numerous awards and prizes. For their many years of creative work, the band released a large number of music albums.
