As the torch passed through their communities, Jamats across the country marked the occasion with special events, such as the food drive held in Toronto's Don Mills neighbourhood in support of the Flemingdon Food Bank.
In British Columbia, the Ismaili community partnered with the City of Abbotsford and joined a number of organisations at a torch relay reception where a donation to the Abbotsford food bank was made.
As part of the torch relay celebrations, the Ismaili Arts and Culture team performed a dance showcasing the diversity of the community.
On the eve of the opening of the Olympic Games, Ismaili torch bearers from across the country gathered in Vancouver to celebrate.
